Protect with a broad-spectrum sunscreen
"Much of the so-called aging that occurs in skin is actually due to sun exposure, not to getting older," explains Marsha Gordon, M.D., New York-based dermatologist, which is why you need to be vigilant about using sunscreen.
To get adequate sun protection, look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen -- one that shields you from both UVA (aging rays) and UVB rays (burning rays) -- with a high SPF (15 or more).
