Turning Back the Clock
So what do you do when you notice that stress is starting to show in your skin and hair? Here are some regimes to counter your problems:
Hair and Scalp
Hair loss can be improved by using only mildly alkaline shampoos. Avoid shampoos that are too alkaline and silicone-based hair products.
Dandruff can be treated with anti-dandruff shampoos and steer clear from heavy waxes and gels which can cause further irritation to your scalp.
Treat your scalp to regular massages to promote blood flow and relieve tension.
If you're constantly using hair styling products and appliances, get deep-treatment and hydrating hair masks and conditioners to repair your hair.
Skin
Acne flare-ups, eczema and psoriasis can appear when your immune system is compromised by prolonged stress. Take a daily dose of multivitamin tablet and indulge in more leisurely activities and your skin condition should improve.
Go for a monthly facial to cleanse and exfoliate the skin.
Wear a sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
Drink plenty of water.
Have sufficient sleep.
Eat balanced meals.
