| | 3 / 6 3. Wine
Red wine is also a staining culprit for many. Like black tea, it contains stain-promoting tannins, but it also comprises of deep red pigments called chromogens. Chromogens are intensely pigmented molecules that give foods and beverages their signature color, and they're notorious for latching on to the dental enamel.
Minimize staining: Experts believe that the longer foods or drinks are retained inside your mouth, the more your teeth are exposed to these stain-promoting substances. To reduce staining, savor your wine, but don't let it linger in your mouth for too long.
