"This should be stop number one if you want to lose weight," says Tanya Zuckerbrot, R.D., author of The F-Factor Diet. "Fruits and vegetables fill you up with few calories."
Even with a hectic schedule, there is no excuse not to eat veggies -- if your goal is fast, healthy meals, pick up pre-cut and no-cut vegetables and fruits like peeled baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, pre-shredded coleslaw mix, prewashed salad greens, bananas and strawberries.
Frozen vegetables are good options, too. Just check to make sure there is not a lot of added fat, sugar and salt.
