Your little baby loves the sound of your voice and starts to reciprocate your smile, cooing back or even squeal! She also begins to develop concentration and pays more attention to her surroundings, so stimulate her senses by hanging a colorful mobile over her crib, watch her move her head as she focuses on moving objects and 'play' with her by making funny faces.



For ages 0-3 Months

PHYSICAL	Head control develops; attempts to lift head when lying facedown; responds to loud noises by blinking, startling, frowning or waking from light sleep; arm/leg co-ordination improves; able to focus on objects 8 to 15 inches away; grasps your finger; bats at objects.
EMOTIONAL	Shows displeasure by crying (respond to her cries quickly -- it's impossible to spoil a newborn); smiles from around 6-8 weeks.
SOCIAL	Recognizes your face; responds to your voice; blows bubbles, wiggles limbs when you talk or gently play with her; snuggles in your arms for comfort and security.
