RDA of Vitamins for Adults (25-50 years old)
Vitamin A (Retinol)
  • RDA Male: 5000IU, Female: 4000IU
  • Deficiency: Xeropthalmia - dryness of the eye (conjunctiva & cornea)
  • Overdosage: Fatigue, irritability, anorexia, loss of weight, hair loss, anaemia, enlarged liver & spleen

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
  • RDA Male: 1.5mg, Female: 1.1mg
  • Deficiency: Beri beri - a deficiency disease marked by inflammatory/degenerative changes of the nerves, digestive system and heart

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
  • RDA Male: 1.7mg, Female: 1.3mg
