It is normal to have vaginal discharge. The vagina and cervix produce secretions to cleanse out vaginal bacteria and exfoliated vaginal cells. The normal vaginal discharge is clear or white, and not particularly "clumpy" or especially "runny", and it should not have an unpleasant odor. And it is normal to experience an increase in the amount of discharge in the middle of your menstrual cycle.
However, if you notice an increase in the amount of discharge, a change to the color of the discharge, or a foul odor, see your doctor to have it evaulated. It's probably some kind of vaginal infection.
