When worries about money, family, love, health and work go out of control.
GAD Facts
Generalized anxiety disorder is more common in women than in men, and most often strikes people in childhood or adolescence, but can begin in adulthood, too, though symptoms may manifest themselves more slowly than in most other anxiety disorders.
How Anxiety Affects Your Life
Excessive worrying can make you feel sick as well as worsen any pre-existing illness. Your work could also be negatively affected by your poor concentration. You might also spend so much time worrying that you have no time for other more meaningful activities.
Children with General Anxiety Disorders
Children of schooling age can get GAD too. Symptoms include fear strangers and of being away from the family, refusal to go to school, fear of falling asleep and recurrent nightmares, and undue worry.
