3. Psychologically dependent on cigarettes
If you tend to reach for your pack of cigarettes when you're stressed, angry or depressed, or see smoking as a way to help you perk up and think better, you're probably psychologically dependent on cigarettes.Quit Plan: Positive thinking is a useful method to help you break the dependence: Use self-talk to work through your problems and start thinking of yourself as a non-smoker. Learn other ways of coping with stress, such as keeping a regular exercise regime, learning relaxation techniques, and taking up new relaxing hobbies.
