Staying active helps cut your heart attack risk by lowering blood pressure as well as discouraging the formation of dangerous blood clots.
Even if you don't have time for a 30-minute workout three times a week, breaking it down into three 10-minute sessions can be just as beneficial for your heart.
"The 10 minutes during the day can be a brisk walk to work, or the last part of your trip to work, a brisk walk at lunch time, and a moderately vigorous bike ride at the end of the day," suggests Richard A. Stein, M.D., author of Outliving Heart Diease.
