Aim for five portions of a wide variety of fruit and veg every day and try to make this constitute around a third of your daily food consumption, advises Croft o'Halloran.
Try to eat different colored fruits and vegetables to get a wide range of vitamins and minerals in your diet and aim for one portion from each color group
Add vegetables and pulses to stews and casseroles to bulk out meals and add a portion
Don't go crazy with dried fruits -- they do count but they also contain a lot of hidden sugars, salt and calories
